Oliver's Bear-y First Birthday

We had such a special day surrounded by family and friends as we celebrated our little guy turning one and most importantly dedicating him to the Lord.  It was a beary sweet day.   ​

​The Theme for Oliver's first birthday party was bears.  Oliver has always loved teddy bears and bear was one of his first words.  So we knew that this would be the perfect theme for our little guy turning one!  It was so much fun finding different bear themed decorations for his party!

​The colors I choose for his theme were gold, tan, white, and sage green.  I incorportated these colors with the balloons we used and sage green napkins.  Some of my favorite decorations were the table settings.  I found the sweetest bear plates from amazon and my personal favorite the honey bear cups which everyone drank out of.  These were a big hit and everyone loved them even the adults! I also found bear straws to add into the cups and used wooden silverware. 

All of the teddy bears that I used to decorate for his party were so special to us.  They were all of the bears that belonged to me and my husbands families growing up.  It was so special getting to incorportate stuffed animals that were meaningful to my husband and I as little kids!

​​We also included other bear touches to the party through dessert!  My parents made all of the cupcakes and the smash cake for our party!  They added little bear toppers with balloons to the cakes.  These were such a cute find and added a whimsical feel to the party!  They also put teddy bear grahmn crackers on top of the cupcakes.  The cakes and cupcakes turned out so cute and it was so special to have my parents make them for Oliver's party!

​A very talented family member and friend made the cutest little bear cookies!  They were so adorable and fit the bear theme perfectly!! They were a huge hit at Oliver's party!

​We also added food labels to the food table.  My creative husband came up with the bear names for all of the food. 

​We wanted to find little ways to include our guests in this special day.  This time capsule was one of my favorite ideas to do for Olivers party.  People could write a message that Oliver will be able to look back on and read when he turns 18.  I think that this is such a special keepsake to have for Oliver. We also did a guess the gummy bear game.  This was so fun for everyone to do and we gave the winner a nice little prize.  

​The day turned out to be so nice and we really loved the bear theme.  It would be perfect to use for any little one who loves bears!  There are so many cute decorations that you can find for this theme!  I have included the ones that I used below!
